EXPEDITION FILMS WRAPS "THE SURPRISE PARTY"

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – March 14, 1999 – Expedition Films LLC today announced that it has completed principal photography on its first full-length feature film, "The Surprise Party." A romantic comedy, this film is an ode to the maturing Generation X audience, who are stepping into the crosshairs of adulthood. "The Surprise Party" focuses on the outrageous 30th birthday of Oscar, who plans to celebrate by asking his girlfriend Penny to marry him, but must instead face some unsettling truths about Penny, his friends, his past, and himself.

The film, scheduled for completion in August of this year, is the first from Writer/Director Garrett Rice. "The Surprise Party" was filmed by award winning Cinematographer Joplin Wu on location in the San Francisco Bay Area. The cast includes well-known Canadian actor Colin Ferguson as Oscar, Amber O'Shea as Penny, Dianne Luby as Oscar’s ex-girlfriend Julie, Joe Mazza as Oscar's best friend Jack Gribble, and Tyler Janisch as Gribble's foil, Bill Tarado. Veterans Janice Fuller, Seymour Horowitz, and Bob Scott round out this talented group.

"Once we're done with post production, we look forward to premiering our film at one of the prestigious film festivals."
